held the ranch for over 28 years. According to the records at the
Northeastern Nevada Museum, the placer claims in the area, yielded
“millions of dollars” in gold during the three times that mining
took place in the surrounding area. There is one report of a “6
ounce nugget.” The ranch is 85 miles north of Elko, Nevada on
State Highway 225. It is immediate southwest of Mountain City,
Nevada. Owyhee is 12 miles north, Twin Falls, Idaho is 180 miles
north and east and Boise, Idaho is 150 miles north and west.
